Natural or lab-grown?
Both are real diamonds — identical in sparkle, hardness and beauty. The difference is origin: natural diamonds formed in the earth over billions of years; lab-grown are made in weeks with the same chemistry. We lead with natural for their rarity and lasting value, but a lab-grown stone lets your budget stretch to a larger or finer diamond. Neither is "better." The right one is the one that's right for <em>you</em>, and we'll talk you through it honestly.
The 4Cs, simply
Cut
The most important C. Cut is what makes a diamond sparkle — a well-cut stone outshines a bigger, poorly-cut one. Never compromise here.
Colour
Graded D (colourless) to Z. Most eyes can't tell the difference between the top grades once set — a smart place to save.
Clarity
How free the diamond is of natural inclusions. "Eye-clean" is the goal — flawless under a loupe rarely matters to the naked eye.
Carat
Weight, not size. Shape and cut change how large a carat looks — an oval wears bigger than a round of the same weight.
Choosing your shape
Shape sets the whole personality of a piece. Round brilliant for maximum sparkle; oval for elegance that wears large; emerald for understated, architectural cool; pear for something romantic and distinctive; cushion, radiant and princess for everything in between. There's no best — only the one that feels like you.
How made-to-order works
Every Iceman piece is created for you, by hand. You tell us what you love, we design it with you, you choose your diamond and metal, and master jewellers craft it — usually in 3–5 weeks. Natural diamonds arrive GIA-certified; lab-grown arrive IGI-certified — conflict-free, with a fair, itemised quote and no pressure. It's the opposite of buying off a shelf.
